How long have you been in business?
Our company has been in operation for 27 years, however, our president and counsel has been working in the title business for over 46 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We conduct title searches for various parties, buyers, lenders, attorneys, and realtors. The title searches involve examining public records in the County Clerk's office of the county where the land is located. We also examine municipal tax and assessment records, New Jersey Superior Court, United States District Court, and United States Bankruptcy Court dockets for the filing of judgments, liens and Bankruptcies. In most cases, the end result of these searches is a Title insurance policy insuring the ownership of the property to the purchaser, and insuring the priority of the lender's lien (mortgage) to the Lender. We also assist the seller's attorney in clearing up title problems prior to the closing, and assisting all parties in the closing process.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My background is in English literature, history, and philosophy. All of this led to the study of law which led to an interest in real estate land titles and how they developed, how problems can arise, and how those problems can be addressed and resolved.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Many title insurance companies today are affiliated with, or owned by, lenders, new home builders, or realtors. The Title Insurance business is heavily regulated, especially in New Jersey where all of our insurance rates and associated fees are regulated by the Department of Banking and insurance. Thus, all agencies charge the same for the same policy. So why would someone choose to utilize our company? We are an independently owned agency with our primary goal being to ensure that the American dream of home ownership can be made available to everyone with the least anxiety, in the most efficient and professional manner, and with the utmost respect for the interest of each party to the transaction.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our office is centrally located in East Brunswick, and we have the ability to serve clients nationwide who have an interest in properties anywhere in New Jersey. Because of rules enacted by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, we have added various capabilities and practices to our office systems, such as encrypted email and a 'clean desk' policy to ensure that any non-public information relating to any transaction we are involved with, is protected by the most technologically advanced systems we can put in place.

What type of payments do you accept?
Because of regulations imposed by the New Jersey Department of Banking and insurance we cannot accept credit cards.
Payment is made at the time of closing, and for the most part, our fees and charges are part of the fudns that are usually wire transferred into our escrow account as part of the closing process.
Which areas do you service?
We service all 21 counties in New Jersey and have the ability, through our underwriters and agency networks, to service real estate needs in any state in the United States.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The company is wholly owned by Isidore and Sandra Teitelbaum, the President/Counsel and Office Manager, respectively.
What are your hours of operation?
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
